Weekly Writing Updates

I've had a goal of updating my blog weekly with writer wins for the week (who doesn't love alliteration?) but have so far been rather dismal in keeping up with that goal.
This is an attempt to fix that and share some of the indie writer wins I've had this week!

Big Weekly Success
Firstly, I'm so happy to celebrate my first review from a non-friend/family member! This may seem silly, but knowing that someone read my book (and liked it!) enough to review it and even make a wonderful TikTok video about it, is a huge accomplishment for me!
I grew up in an authoritarian household where my wins were not celebrated unless they made the family at large look good. Having a personal accomplishment that only focuses on my skills wasn't encouraged because it would supposedly lead to others being jealous.
Sharing my writing, publishing, promoting even, are all huge steps for me. Huge feats of success that remind me it's okay to be your own biggest cheerleader and shout it from the rooftops! Even nicer to have a community celebrate you as well!

Upcoming Events!
As someone who lives with chronic illness (EDS/POTS, Endometriosis, ADHD) I have to be aware of how many spoons my body can handle. If you're not familiar with the spoon theory, I encourage you to look into the idea, especially if you live with a chronic illness, but essentially - if you think of a person's energy levels like a bundle of spoons, and every task completed cost a spoon, from something as simple as brushing your teeth to larger like mowing the lawn. Every task costs a spoon and often people with chronic illness start the day with less spoons than others.
All this to say, I'm trying to properly allocate my energy to events throughout the months so I don't get overwhelmed.
In March, I'll be participating in my first Stuff Your Kindle event!
The pdf version of FarrowHaven AdventureLand: Spring will be available here on the site for $.99 during the week of March 11-16!

In April, I'll be at the 2025 Magic City Book Bash on April 12th in downtown Tulsa, OK.
In May I'll be at the 2025 OWFI Conference: Conjuring the Mysteries of Writing! with keynote speaker Jim Butcher!
In June I'll be heading to the beautiful Colorado mountains for a writing retreat and finally, in July I'll be publishing book 2 of FarrowHaven AdventureLand!
